WISER administration worked with IIT architects to complete the renovation of the 16th floor of the IIT Tower and successfully moved all WISER activities to this location as of January 2012. This state-of-the-art facility was designed specifically to house the WISER operation and the Robert W. Galvin Center for Electricity Innovation and its Smart Grid Workforce Education and Training Program. The 16,000-square-foot space features Smart Grid and microgrid demonstrations, and the master controller and network operation center for IIT’s microgrid facility. Constructed as a living laboratory for Smart Grid and microgrid technology and education, the suite also contains offices, exhibition rooms, classrooms, and student workrooms.
