Global Studies

Who plan to major in: Global Studies


I. Core Curriculum Electives

  • A. Basic Writing Proficiency - A grade of "C" or better in ENG 101 will complete this requirement.
  • B. Humanities - Choose one course from the following subjects: Art (115-118 only), English (not 102, 130, or 230), History, Music (101-108 only), Philosophy (NOT 104), or Theater 101. 
  • C. Social Sciences - Choose one course from the following subjects: Anthropology, Economics (not 104 or 107), Geography, Political Science (not 103), Psychology, or Sociology. 
  • D. Humanities or Social Sciences - Choose an additional course from section B or section C.
  • E. Science Electives -  Choose 10 hours from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geology, or Astronomy. Two courses must be in the same field, and at least one course must be in a different field.
  • F. Free Electives -  Choose four courses (13 hours) with an IAI designation.
  • G. The successful completion of intermediate (second-year) foreign language coursework may be applied to the language proficiency/international experience requirement for the Global Studies major. Please contact the Office of Undergraduate Academic Affairs for additional information on how to satisfy this requirement.
