Host University Accommodation
- University housing varies widely across the different host universities, so start researching options at least a couple of months prior to the beginning of your program. For example, check out your host university’s website; student feedback reports, located in the Study Abroad Office; and talk to previous and current exchange students; they may also be able to provide contact details about where they stayed.
- Whichever way you decide to go about it, we advise you start the process as early as possible. Please remember that it is your responsibility to find accommodation, not the responsibility of the host university or Illinois Tech.
- Once you’ve found a place to stay, send the IIT Study Abroad Office an email with your contact details.
Illinois Tech Housing
- If you have an Illinois Tech housing contract, you must cancel your room and board with the IIT Housing office directly to avoid paying 100% of housing fees for the abroad semester. To waive the cancellation fees click here.
NOTE: You must do this prior to December 1. This is not applicable for fall housing.
