What Can a Frank Lloyd Wright Cottage Tell Us About Chicago’s Heritage?

TRANSCRIPT

We live in a city that was basically designed, or parts of it were designed, by the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. He designed the Robie House, but he also designed smaller buildings like the Booth Cottage.

And so it represents a kind of opportunity to reflect on the broader contributions of Frank Lloyd Wright, from major buildings to smaller buildings but nonetheless significant ones, and I think even in the so-called suburbs in Glencoe, the Booth Cottage. And so I think it really is an opportunity for us as a city to rally around saving parts of our heritage.

And a heritage, it doesn’t only have to be monumental buildings, famous buildings, it can simply be modest yet important buildings like the Booth Cottage.
