Dependents of TN status holders are admitted in TD status. Generally, Canadian TDs do not need to obtain a TD visa, but non-Canadian TDs do. TD visas issued to dependent family members of TN status holders should be annotated with the name of the principal TN.
Study in TD Status
Individuals in TD status are allowed to study full or part-time. Children in TD status may also attend public or private elementary, middle or high schools. If full-time study is desired it may be advantageous to change status to F-1 or J-1 student.
Employment in TD Status
TD dependents are not permitted to work or engage in business under any circumstances.
