Understanding Your Meal Plan
Residents and commuters have a variety of meal plans to choose from. All meal plans come with bonus points, which give students additional funds to spend at any IIT dining outlet. See Options and Rates.
The Office of Residence Life works with Illinois Tech’s Dining Services vendor, Chartwells, to provide a pleasant, clean, comfortable and satisfying dining experience. All Chartwells campus outlets serve healthy, fresh and nutritious meals and individual items, in addition to traditional snacks and quick pick-me-up items. The all-you-care-to-eat Commons cafeteria strives to prepare items that appeal to IIT's international student population.
A Meal Exchange can be used to get a meal at the Center Court, or The Bog instead of in the Commons. Meal Exchange options are listed at each of the eateries.
Meal plans may be changed under the following terms:
- Meal plan changes occur during the fall semester from August 1st - August 31st and during the spring semester from January 4th - January 21st, and cannot not be changed after that time.
- Students can request one meal plan change.
- Changes can be requested by filling out the Meal Plan Change Form.
- Meal plan changes start on Sunday of the week following the request. Approved Meal plan changes will be reflected on MyRoom.
