File a Complaint

Illinois Tech promptly and thoroughly investigates and resolves complaints alleging sex discrimination, sexual harassment, and sexual violence.

Reporting Form

Any person who has been the subject of sexual harassment/misconduct may file a complaint alleging violation of the policy prohibiting sexual harassment/misconduct with the Title IX Coordinator (Virginia Foster, 312.567.7525, foster@iit.edu). The privacy of complainant and those accused of violating this policy shall be protected throughout proceedings to the extent possible. All reasonable measures will be taken to assure that no one involved in any complaint, investigation, or remedy shall suffer retaliation as a result of the proceedings.

Anyone who is the victim of sexual misconduct and desires to do so should call the Public Safety Department (312.808.6300) or the Chicago Police Department as soon as possible. 

Complaint Involves 

There are times a student/employee may wish to report an incident of sexual harassment/misconduct without pursuing disciplinary or legal action.  Illinois Tech will respect the wishes of the student/employee when possible, recognizing it’s obligation to keep the campus safe.  Even if a student/employee does not want to proceed, the university may choose to proceed under limited circumstances.  In such cases, Illinois Tech will notify and support the original student/employee

Does the complaint remain confidential?
In cases of sexual harassment/ misconduct, Illinois Tech will seek to protect the privacy of all parties to the extent possible. If students wish to speak confidentially, they may do so with the licensed practitioners in the Student Health and Wellness Center. Those individuals are obligated by law to maintain confidentiality.

What are the additional resources for the Illinois Tech community?
Illinois Tech is committed to treating all individuals with dignity, care, and respect. Any individual affected by sexual harassment/ misconduct will have equal access to support and counseling services through the Student Health and Wellness Center. We encourage community members to seek the support of campus and community resources. Illinois Tech can provide guidance in making decisions and obtaining available resources for all parties involved.
