The Friday - May 11, 2018 before the main Commencement ceremony, students graduating with their Ph.D. are invited to a special event where they receive their doctoral hoods.
To attend please complete your Ceremony Reponses Form. All students graduating with their Ph.D. will be asked additional questions on this form.
NOTE: Filling out the Graduation Application is different from responding to the Hooding Ceremony. If you wish to attend both, you must respond separately!
What: A separate Ph.D. Hooding Ceremony, held before the regular graduation ceremony. The Ph.D. Hooding Ceremony is a special acknowledgement for students who have attained their Doctoral degrees, and for the friends and family who have supported them.
When: Friday, May 11, 2018, beginning at 4 p.m.
Where: Hermann Hall Auditorium, 3241 S. Federal St.
Required Information: If you will be attending, please complete your Ceremony Reponses Form.
Guests: All guests may attend the Ph.D. Hooding Ceremony. Tickets are not required for Friday’s ceremony only. Guest tickets are required for the Main Ceremony and your Academic Unit Ceremony.
Regalia: You should pick up your regalia (cap & gown) at the Graduate Salute, April 23 and April 24, noon - 7 p.m., in Hermann Hall Ballroom. If you cannot attend Graduate Salute either day, you may pick up your regalia at PhD Hooding. The hood will be provided at the ceremony.
Deadline: Please respond by Friday, March 2, 2018, 11:59 p.m., Chicago time.
