Career Fair Prep Night: Practice and refine your communication skills!

On Tuesday, September 12th, Career Services will be hosting a Career Fair Prep Night! RSVP to have the opportunity to refine and practice communication techniques with employers present to support and critique you! On top of helping you gain confidence in your introductions, this event will also feature an area where students can have professional photos taken for use in any networking environment.

Want to become a Career Fair VIP? Attend these Workshops!

Starting August 29th, Career Services will be hosting Pre-Career Fair Workshops every Tuesday and Friday until the Career Fair! Students can RSVP to be walked through techniques including employer research, introductions, informational interviews, and more! These interactive workshops will provide all the information needed to become a Career Fair VIP, a title given to trained students which allows them to have extra exposure to recruiters. Career Services Student Advisory Board seeking students

Career Services, in association with the Student Government Association, is forming Career Services Student Advisory Board. Both undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to join this board. The board aims to strengthen relationships between students and Career Services, improve student engagement in events and workshops, provide feedback on existing career-related initiatives, and suggest ideas to improve the same.

Shadow a Career in your Major this Spring Break!

During the week of spring break, March 13-17, 2017, Career Services is offering career treks to various companies in the Chicagoland area for students to tour and shadow professionals in their fields. We will be visiting employers specific to each college; the company schedules are listed below.

This is a great opportunity to see firsthand what a typical day at work is like and learn more about an organization in your field, not to mention a great chance to ask questions and network.
