Spring 2017 Career Fair Prep Night

Feb 13, 4:00pm to 7:00pm

Succeeding at obtaining a job or internship requires more than just a solid resume. You need to be able to sell your skills to an employer keeping their company’s needs in mind, have a comprehensive and error-free LinkedIn profile with a professional picture, and more.

The Career Fair Prep Event is aimed at helping students be better prepared for the Career Fair to become more confident and skilled at interacting with employers. You will have an opportunity to practice and get immediate feedback on the following

  • Your “elevator pitch”
  • Building a personal brand through LinkedIn
  • Creating business cards
  • Practice Interviewing
  • Making an effective resume.

Additional opportunities and services:

  • Short presentations on how to use time effectively during a Career Fair
  • Professional portraits through on-site professional photographer
  • A special guest speaker, Dr. Daniel Moser, Professional and Presentation Skills Director at Northwestern University and expert in presentation practices will speak in the MTCC auditorium at 5:45 p.m.

Students are encouraged to register through their Jobs4Hawks profile but it is not mandatory. Dress Code: Not required, but professional attire is encouraged for professional portraits and for the best experience.
