The Academic Resource Center (ARC) is IIT's primary teaching and learning center on the university’s Main Campus in Chicago. Its mission is to provide students with the resources necessary to achieve academic excellence through student-centered learning. ARC services are conducted by undergraduate and graduate students with exceptional GPA, communication skills and a desire to help others. All resources are free to use for current Illinois Tech students.
How to utilize peer tutoring at the ARC?
You can visit the center at HH-112 (northwest corner of Hermann Hall) during available Tutoring Schedules. All students are required to sign in when visiting the ARC. After you are signed in, identify your table with printed labels or by asking the front-desk monitor. The ARC scholar, if available, will be wearing a name tag will greet you to begin your tutoring session. If you are joining the ARC during drop-in times, other students may be present and the scholar will move around. Use TutorTrac to schedule an appointment for individual sessions. How to schedule group sessions, exam reviews & workshops?
Group sessions, exam reviews and workshops are requested by students, faculty and ARC scholars. Group sessions and workshops are scheduled based on a topic, whereas, exam reviews are 'question and answer' sessions scheduled a day or two before an actual exam. All upcoming events are listed at Tutoring Schedules and TutorTrac. You can choose to make an appointment or sign in when your visit the location. To request a session complete a Service Request.
TutorTrac is a web-based application, which allows to view schedules or appointments (if available) related to available areas/departments, enrolled subject/sections, and advisers/tutors/coaches. Once logged in using your my.iit.edu portal information, select "search availabilty" to view available schedules. A detailed information about TutorTrac is available here: details.

How to raise hand electronically at the ARC?
In the fall 2018 semester, Academic Resoruce Center implemented Q2 table visit module in TutorTrac. This allows the students to request help for their subject on any table they are sitting at the ARC in Hermann Hall. Later, the center will utilize for remote help as well. Currently, you must sign in at the ARC sign in/out kiosk and then visit the Q2 site or scan the barcode on any table using your smart phone.
