2015 Summer Housing Updates

Room Options and Rates
2015 summer session housing is offered in State Street Village (North Pavilion), McCormick Student Village (East Hall), and Carman Hall. SSV South, Gunsaulus, and Lewis Halls will be closed during summer break. Other halls will be used for summer conference housing. Carman Hall will be undergoing minor cleaning projects that will limit availability to residents. Double as single or single room options are currently not available but will be based on availability after May 1, 2015. Residents selecting options B and C will be required to move off campus prior to moving into summer housing. Select a summer housing plan that best fits your needs. On campus storage for personal items is not available.

To qualify for summer housing, residents must meet one of the following requirements:
registered in a minimum of one summer course at IIT, VCM or Shimer College;
registered as a full time student for fall courses at IIT, VCM or Shimer College (registered summer students will receive priority if housing becomes full)
Residence and Greek Life will specify a 2 day window in which students may move from Spring room assignments to Summer room assignments and Summer assignments to Fall assignments. Students must be available to move as assigned.
Summer moves will start as early as Sunday, May 17, 2015.
All room and board charges will be applied to residents’ student accounts (Shimer and Vandercook students will be billed directly by Shimer College and Vandercook respectively).
Students who have not completed a housing contract for the following fall semester, will be required to leave at the close of the summer session term (August 9, 2015).
If students are living on campus during the Fall semester, they will need to relocate during a set time frame. If there are conflicts with moving during this time, RGL should be notified by July 15, 2015.
Residents can cancel without penalty for 48 hours after contract submission (through April 28, 2015). After 48 hours, cancellation fees are 50% of the room contract. All cancellations received after 5:00 pm on April 30, 2015 will be assessed cancellation fees valued at 100% the cost of room and 50% of the meal plan. Residents must cancel in writing online (see cancellation policy).
Residence and Greek Life does not require a prepayment for summer session housing.
April 6, 2015- Summer Housing Applications Open- SPACE IS LIMITED
April 30, 2015 - Last day to be guaranteed a spot in summer housing
April 30, 2015 - Last day to submit a late departure request to remain on-campus between Spring & Summer sessions
May 1, 2015 - Students will be placed based on availability
May 17, 2015 - Students begin moving into summer housing
