The Friday - May 15, 2015 before the main Commencement ceremony, students graduating with their Ph.D. are invited to a special event where they receive their doctoral hoods.
Separate from the Commencement ceremony on Saturday, the Ph.D. hooding ceremony requires a separate response and additional information from the student. Contact Carol Emmons with any questions at 312.567.3097 or email email@example.com.
What: A separate Ph.D. Hooding Ceremony, held before the regular graduation ceremony. The Ph.D. Hooding Ceremony is a special acknowledgement for students who have attained their Doctoral degrees, and for the friends and family who have supported them.
When: Friday, May 15, 2015, beginning at 4 p.m.
Where: Hermann Hall Auditorium, 3241 S. Federal St.
Required Information: If you will be attending, please include your full name, phone number, preferred email address, department (including area of study – example, BChS and Chemistry or ECE and Computer Engineering), thesis title, and thesis advisor(s). Also include the approximate number of guests you will be bringing. Email them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
NOTE: Filling out the Ceremony Attendance Form and Graduation Application are different from responding to the Hooding Ceremony. If you wish to attend both, you must respond separately!
Guests: You may bring as many guests as you like and you do not need tickets – for Friday’s ceremony only, the Saturday graduation has a different policy.
Regalia: You should pick up your regalia (cap & gown) at the Graduate Salute, April 27 and April 28, noon - 7 p.m., in Hermann Hall Ballroom. If you cannot attend Graduate Salute either day, you may pick up your regalia at PhD Hooding.
The hood will be presented at the ceremony.
Deadline: Please respond by Monday, March 30, 2015.
