Our commitment to Spiritual diversity
Illinois Tech is a community that values and respects its members. We appreciate that our faculty, staff, students, alumni/ae and trustees come from many backgrounds and many parts of the world. We embrace the contributions that differences offer. We are committed to providing a working and learning environment in which all students and all members of the faculty and staff are able to realize their full potential, both professionally and spiritually.
Meal Plan Accommodations for Religiously Observant Students
Building community—one that includes students, faculty, staff, visitors, partners, and tenants—and embracing diversity requires action at the institutional as well as the personal level. As residents living on campus are required to participate in one of several university-sponsored meal plans, IIT Dining Services features a variety of choices intended to meet the dietary needs of Illinois Tech’s diverse student body. In certain situations, a religiously observant student may need to request special meal plan accommodations or, in the event IIT Dining Services cannot meet the student’s documented dietary restrictions, an exemption from the meal plan participation requirement. Students wishing to obtain an accommodation or exemption based on the their sincerely held religious beliefs must begin by filling out this form and submitting it to the Office of Student Affairs in MTCC 209 (firstname.lastname@example.org).
