ARC History and Funding

Established in 1979 with a grant from the National Science Foundation, the Academic Resource Center (ARC) has become institutionalized as the Illinois Institute of Technology's center of study for undergraduate students as well as a great resource for graduate students and faculty.

The Dr. Scholl Foundation Academic Resource Center is committed to fostering intellectual growth and excellent academic achievement among the undergraduate students at the university. The Dr. Scholl Foundation has provided substantial financial support to the ARC. The university and its students are extremely grateful to the foundation for its commitment to higher education at IIT.

The student support center at IIT formed in 1979, then named the Educational Technology Center (ETC.) In 1999, the ETC was renamed the Academic Resource Center, and has continued to focus on supporting students in the rigorous engineering and science curriculum.
