Downtown Parking Options
The Conviser Law Center offers discounted parking options to IIT students, staff, and faculty with a valid university ID card. Parking information is available online in The Record. If you have any questions, please contact the Administration & Finance Office in Suite 265 or at (312) 906-5100.
2023-2024 Fall & Spring Mies Parking Permit Options
Students that wish to park on campus must have a valid parking permit. Permits are available online for purchase via MyParking. Online permits will be linked to your vehicle immediately. Parking citations must be paid or appealed to purchase a new permit.

Standard Flex Permit
Cost - $261.00 per semester
Fall Option - Expires December 31, 2023
Spring Option - January 2024 - May 2024
Access to lots A2, A3, B2, B3, B5, C1, C2, D1-D2, and D5.
Resident Permit (Students Living on Campus in Residence Halls or Greek Housing)
Cost - $261.00 per semester
Fall Option - Expires December 31, 2023

Access to lots A5, D1 resident, and D3
Blue Permit
Cost - $261.00 per semester
Fall Option - Expires December 31, 2023
Spring Option - January 2024 - May 2024
Access to designated Blue permit spaces are located next to the following main campus buildings:
- IIT Tower
- 3424 South State
- Siegel Hall
- Perlstein Hall
- Life Sciences
Blue permits also have access to general spaces campus-wide to facilitate reasonable proximity. Review the Accessible Parking Policy.
New Blue Permit Registration
Students with a state-issued handicap placard may park in designated Blue permit spaces campus-wide with a Blue parking permit. Individuals seeking access to Blue Permit spaces should send a copy of their state-issued handicap placard along with a brief statement expressing the need for a closer proximity parking accommodation to campusbusiness@iit.edu. Issuance of a Blue Permit is subject to approval by the Center for Disability Resources and Parking Services.
Evening Permit
Cost - $140.00 per Semester, Lump Sum Payment Required
Fall Option - Expires December 31, 2023
Spring Option - January 2024 - May 2024
Access to general spaces campus-wide from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m., Monday-Friday.
Moped/Motorcycle Permit
$20.00 per month
Valid in designated spaces available in lots A5, A6, B2, C1, D1-D2, and D5
*Permit is complimentary if registering moped/motorcycle as an alternate vehicle for a paid standard permit vehicle. Alternate vehicles are valid in the corresponding permit lot(s) only. Add this vehicle via MyParking.
Temporary Parking
Daily - $6.00 Weekly - $30.00 (Valid 7 days) Monthly - $85.00
Flex daily, weekly and monthly parking is available via MyParking as virtual permits, valid in Flex lots. No physical permit will be issued. Your permit will be linked to your registered vehicle(s). Remember, parking permits are valid for (1) vehicles parked on campus at a time.
Refunds for temporary parking permits may ONLY be requested prior to the permit effective date. Temporary permits cannot be canceled/refunded after the effective date of the permit.
Carpool Permit (Limited Availability)
Cost - $261.00 per semester
Fall Option - Expires December 31, 2023
Spring Option - January 2024 - May 2024
Access to Flex and Visitor lots campus wide. Only (1) carpool member vehicle may park on campus at a time. Primary carpool account holders must email secondary carpool member information (first name, last name, campus ID number) to campusbusiness@iit.edu along with their vehicle information.
A2 East
All permits except EVENING have 24/7 access to A2 East to facilitate access to Keating Sports Center. EVENING permits are valid during the times specified for the permit type as noted above.
Weekend Parking
Parking permits are required Monday - Sunday at all times. Reserved spaces and restricted areas are enforced 24/7.
Permit Distribution and Payment Options
Permit Distribution
Your permit will be linked to your registered license plates immediately upon purchase. Physical permits will be mailed to the address of your choice via PERMITDIRECT. Permits will be mailed within (10) business days.
Payment Options
Lump Sum permits can be paid in full by credit/debit card, electronic check, or student account charge. Students interested in charging their parking permit to their student account must have an active Title IV Authorization (available via MyIIT portal) for Non-Institutional Charges Form on file with the university PRIOR TO PURCHASING A PERMIT. Student charge is available for Fall or Spring permits ONLY.
How to File
Visit the MyIIT Portal → Finances Tab → Student Accounting Office Channel → Title IV Authorization → Select option (2) Non-Institutional Charge Authorization to authorize any applicable financial aid to be applied to your parking fees → email campusbusiness@iit.edu to confirm your payment eligibility for student charge, we will respond within 1 business day.
Permit Prorations, Refunds, and Student Charges
Fall and Spring permit fees are prorated on the 1st and 16th of each month. Prorated fees are reflected in MyParking.
The deadlines for the student charge payment method AND to request semester permit refunds are:
- September 2 for Fall 2023
- January 20 for Spring 2024
