Donald F. Othmer

Donald F. OthmerWorld-renowned chemical engineer, innovator, and academic, Donald F. Othmer was the author of hundreds of technical articles and a founding editor of the 17-volume Kirk-Othmer Encyclopedia of Chemical Technology. A Distinguished Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn (now New York University), he taught for nearly 60 years. Othmer held more than 150 patents and helped to develop the powerful World War II explosive RDX.
